State energy company PT Pertamina is to build a US$1.9 billion integrated gas infrastructure network in the country.

The project is included in the Pertamina gas strategy road map to cover all regions in the country until 2025, ANTARA news agency quoted Pertamina gas director Hari Karyuliarto as saying.

The project will include conversion of the Arun liquefied natural gas plant in Aceh into a regasification facility, which needs additional pipelines to reach other regions in Sumatra.

Pertamina will build inland regasisification facilities and trans-Java pipelines in Java, while mini gas terminals and regasification facilities will be developed in eastern Indonesia in strategic locations.

The project will be financed by Pertamina’s internal fund, loans and project financing from investors.
