PetroVietnam launches new oil platform

The Vietnam Oil and Gas Corp (PetroVietnam) on May 8 safely launched an oil platform at Rang Dong (Dawn) oil field in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
The 600 tonne oil platform was manufactured by the Petroleum Technical Services Co (PTSC) for the Japan-Vietnam Petroleum Co (JVPC) to drill and pump oil from an additional 12 wells in the site.
Oil Platform C1, the third in Rang Dong oil field by PTSC, which consists of an automatic exploitation control system, a chemical pumping system, oil and water treatment systems, a solar power system and a helicopter crane, was certified as reaching the international safety standards by Lloyds.
