Private companies tap into water supply business in HCM City

HCM City investment and planning authority reported 14 investors had registered to supply treated clean water in HCM City in 2003.

Hiep An Water Supply Co Ltd is the first private business in HCM City to engage in this industry, supplying around 1,000 cubic metres of water a day to HCM City-owned Water Supply Co.

Another private company, Hoang Lien Co Ltd, is also building a 20,000 cubic metre water plant in Thanh Loc ward, District 2. The plant is scheduled to start production in the second quarter of 2004, supplying around 7,000 cubic metres per day, the city authority reported.
