Rubber export estimated at 173,000 tonnes

In the first four months, Vietnam exported 173,000 tonnes of rubber for $445 million, up 23.8 percent in output and 129.7 percent in value, reported Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The rubber export price averaged at $2,640 per tonne, rising by 92.6 percent or $1,269 per tonne as compared with the same period of 2009.

In this year, the country’s rubber export is targeted at 780,000 tonnes earning $1.7-1.8 billion.
