S. China region exports electricity to Vietnam
An electric power company in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region last week declared to the customs of Dongxing City that it had transmitted 8.86 million kWh of electricity to Vietnam.
The 8.86 million kWh of electricity, exported by the Guangxi Power Grid Corporation, the main power producer and distributor in Guangxi, is worth US$381,079.
According to a contract signed with a Vietnam Power Co in early December 2004, the Guangxi Power Grid will deliver 100 million kWh of electricity, via Dongxing city, to serve Quang Ninh province in the north of Vietnam, in 2005, worth US$4.3 million.
In addition, a power enterprise in southwest China’s Yunnan Province has inked similar contracts with the Vietnam Power Co to export electric power to north Vietnam’s Ha Giang and Yen Bai provinces.
