Samsung’s LCD TV named number one brand
Samsung Vina Electronics on Saturday received the “No.1 Brand” award for 2006 in Vietnam for its LCD TVs from market research firm GfK Asia.
The award is based on the audits of GfK Asia in the LCD TV market, in which Samsung Vina has the highest market share with some 10,00 units sold.
Research by GfK Asia show that in 2006 Samsung reported the highest LCD TV sales volume, representing 32% of the market and growing 2,800%, while the overall growth rate of the LCD market is 1,160%.
Speaking at the award ceremony late last week, Je Hyoung Park, president of Samsung Vina Electronics, said: “This award once again affirms our leading position in Vietnam’s market as well as epitomises the consumers’ trust and love for Samsung LCD TVs.”
The award was launched by GfK Market Research Company in 2003 based on a survey of TV and PC monitor retail sales in Vietnam. In 2004 and 2005, Samsung was rewarded for its CRT TV, CRT monitors and LCD monitors.
In 2007, Samsung focuses on LCD TVs, aiming to maintain the top position in the Vietnam market.
In a related development, Samsung launched the Samsung Digital Partners AV Road show 2007 on Saturday, with a new line up of LCD TVs marketed.
Samsung introduces three models of LCD TGV-M8, Bordeaux Plus and S8.
