Sales for members of Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) lightly increased in September. VAMA said in September eleven VAMA members sold 2,951 cars, an increase of 93 compared to August, but down by nearly 500 products compared to last year. The figures show that the market is moving positively under the market rules -sales increases in the last months of the year.
In the past month, Toyota continued to top sales, but its 875 cars sold was still down by 23, or 29.7%, compared to August. Toyota’s figures are followed by Ford, Visuco, Vinastar and Vidamco. Visuco gained a big step forward, with 390 cars sold, jumping from fifth to third position. Vidamco sold 296 cars, mainly Lacetti, Matiz, Lanos, and Magnus, accounting for 33% of touring car market.
So far this year VAMA members have sold 25,023 cars, compared to 22,477 cars for the same period last year. Statistics of the association’s five new members have not yet been updated.
