Singapore awards scholarships to Vietnamese students
Jimmy Chua, consul general of Singapore in HCM City, hands a scholarship to Le Nu Huyen Trang, one of seven students who receive full scholarships of the Singapore government. The awarding ceremony took place at Sedona Club in the Saigon Centre yesterday.
These students would pursue three or four-year undergraduate degree courses at the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Singapore Nanyang Technological University (NTU) or the Singapore Management University (SMU).
The Singapore government also awarded eight scholarships to eight students in Hanoi on the Tuesday.
All the fifteen Vietnamese students will leave for Singapore this month. The Singapore Scholarship, which is fully funded by the government of Singapore, will cover the tuition fees, return airfares and an annual living allowance.
The Singapore Scholarship is a government-to-Government scheme. Scholars are selected on the basis of their academic merits, leadership qualities and their potential to contribute to community development in their home countries.
