Singapore’s non-oil domestic exports grow 3.2pct in May

Singapore’s non-oil domestic exports (NODX) expanded by 3.2 percent in May on a year-on-year basis, following the 1.7 percent increase in the previous month, due to both electronic and non-electronic NODX, as stated in a release by the International Enterprise Singapore.

On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis, NODX decreased by 2.1 per cent in May 2012, compared to the previous month’s 6.4 per cent expansion,

To all of the top 10 NODX markets, except to the US (-11 per cent), Japan (-5.7 per cent) and China (-0.8 per cent), rose in May 2012 on a year-on-year basis.

The top three contributors to the NODX rise in May 2012 were Hong Kong (+23 per cent), Indonesia (+16 per cent) and South Korea (+15 per cent).
