Singapore’s Olympic prospects from the Singapore Sports School received a $10,500 cash boost from the British Chamber of Commerce on Monday.

Called the Dream 2012 award, it was given to eight students – including swimmer Tao Li – who could be headed to the London Games in July.

Fellow swimmers Amanda Lim and Mylene Ong, track and field athletes Stefan Tseng, Valerie Pereira and Dipna-Lim Prasad, as well as sailors Scott Glen Sydney and Victoria Chan were the other recipients.

This is the last in a series of bursaries given to potential Olympians from the Sports School. The awards were first launched in 2005 by the British Chamber of Commerce after London’s successful bid to host the 2012 Games.
