Social and health insurance arrears hit nearly 7.5tr dong

Statistics from Vietnam Social Insurance Agency showed that the situation of social insurance arrears is taking place commonly.

Accordingly, from early this year so far, difficult economy, stagnancy in business and production and increasing jobless ratio have impacted significantly on collection of social insurance and settlement of policies for employees.

Till the end of June 2012, the total social and health insurance arrears were up to 7.463 trillion dong, rising 52.5 percent over the same period last year. Ten localities with high debt ratio included Dak Nong (12.8%), Ben Tre (10.4%), Hai Phong (10.2%), Hoa Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Long An and Ba Ria Vung Tau.

Many localities reached low socio-health insurance collection ratio against plan such as Ba Ria Vung Tau (44.9%), Quang Ngai (44.8%), Quang Tri (44.5%), Dak Nong (43.5%), Binh Thuan (41.1%) and Hoa Binh (40.4%).
