Experts from 30 countries and territories are attending an international workshop in Hanoi from October 10-14 to introduce Vietnam to space technology applications that could serve its socio-economic development.

The workshop is organised by the Vietnam Space Technology Institute, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the European Space Agency, and the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Participants are seeking ways to apply space technology services and products, promote better awareness of space technology at all social levels, and build community understanding of the social benefits of space technology.

They have also proposed ideas to raise the awareness of policymakers.

The Vietnam Space Technology Institute is now researching small satellite technology, earth observation, space dynamics, and natural resources management.
