Foreign investors yesterday spent more than 8 billion adding more than 100,000 shares to their portfolios since prices went down.
They especially bought 50,810 Vinamilk (VNM) and 33,560 Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corp. (REE) for a total 7.4 billion dong.
REE slid 2,500 per share to 88,500 dong while VNM lost 3,000 to 87,000. The two stocks had a combined turnover of 20.5 billion dong, or 24.65% of the market’s total on the day.
Overall, the VN-Index declined 16.14 points to 543.41 due to a fall in prices of 28 corporate stocks.
After becoming overheated during the February-April period, the market was on a downward path this month, although such blue chips as VNM, REE, Gemadept (GMD), Sacom (SAM) and Taya Vietnam (TYA) reported good results in the first four months.
