Taiwan: Asia’s perfect tourist destination
Taiwan is always a country I will consider if I’m planning a vacation. First of all, because of my lovely Taiwanese friends that always welcome me with tonnes of good food and great entertainment. Taiwanese are friendly, especially in South part of Taiwan. It was my first time to visit Kenting which took me almost 6 hours, and I did not know where to get off and was afraid that I couldn’t catch the last bus from Pingtung. The girl that sat next to me called her boyfriend who was in Pingtung to check the bus schedule, and suggesting some other routes. After checking in at a hotel in Pingtung, she even texted me and asked me to call her if I needed help. It was such a touching experience from a stranger.
I love spending time in the night markets, not just shopping but trying different kinds of food, and different night markets all have different kinds of tastes! I have never tried duck’s tongue, but after my first attempt, I felt in love with it, and keep asking for more. There’s more than 10 different kinds of Taiwanese food that I constantly crave.
There’s also year-round art programmes, theatrical productions, musicals, orchestras in Taipei or Kaohsiung, world-class standards with affordable prices. I admire the spirit of promoting arts in Taiwan. I went to Kaohsiung last February just to watch “The Tempest,” William Shakespeare’s work which was performed by a group German actors. That was the most amazing theater play I have ever seen.
