Taiwan sees April export, import values up on year

Taiwan recorded a total export value of $21.93 billion and total import value of $19.38 billion in April 2010, increasing by 47.8 percent and 52.6 percent respectively on year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) on May 7.

Among different categories of Taiwan-made products, electronics had the largest export value at $6.138 billion in April, rising 43.4 percent on year.

The total export value of $83.73 billion and total import value of $76.29 billion for January-April also grew by 51.2 percent and 71.1 percent respectively.
