Taiwan textiles to be showcased at US trade show

Taipei, August 15 (CNA) A delegation of Taiwanese textile and clothing businesses will showcase their products at a trade show in the United States from August 20-23, the Taiwan Textile Federation said Wednesday.

Twenty-five Taiwanese companies will participate in the Magic show in Las Vegas, one of the largest fashion trade shows in the world, said the federation, which will lead the Taiwan delegation.

During the three-day exhibition, the Taiwanese exhibitors will showcase products such as fabrics, textiles, modern clothing, sports and leisure wear, clothing accessories and a special selection of socks, the federation said.

The Taiwan pavilion, under theme “Think Taiwan for Textiles,” will stage an interactive activity August 21 and 22, the federation said.

It will be Taiwan’s largest textile exhibition since the 2008 global financial crisis, which affected the country’s textile industry.

The show will take place at the Mandalay Bay Convention centre and Las Vegas Convention Centre.

Founded in 1933 by Magic International Inc., the Magic show is one of the biggest professional clothing exhibitions in the world.

It features a variety of clothing and accessories for men, women and children, fashion brands and textiles, which are displayed every February and August.

The exhibition in August is expected to attract 100,000 buyers and more than 3,000 exhibitors from some 80 countries, featuring over 5,000 brands, according to the federation.
