The government has announced a tax reduction for 36 types of Thai goods in exchange for maintaining import tariffs on motorcycles and car parts from Thailand. The new tax concessions were agreed during recent bilateral negotiations between senior financial officials from the two countries.
The Vietnamese finance ministry have officially announced that import tariffs on the 36 types of Thai products, including livestock feed, cement, air-conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, are to be reduced between 1 April 2005 until 31 December 2007, the director-general of the fiscal policy office, Naris Chaiyasoot, told journalists on Wednesday June 29.
Thailand now expects to substantially increase their exports of these goods to Vietnam, Naris said.
