Thousand workers walk off job at Taiwanese-owned shoe factory
Almost 1,100 workers at the Taiwanese-owned Giai Hiep Shoe Factory in Long An Province’s, Duc Hoa District, walked off the job on October 2 and October 3 saying their Mekong-Delta employer had broken its word.
The workers said their employer’s agreement to pay overtime for work that included weekends and holidays following a strike in July had not been honoured.
