Trump, Kim to have one-on-one meeting: White House

The much-anticipated meeting between US President Donald Trump and his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong Un on Tuesday (12 June) will take place with only translators present.

The White House in a statement said that the discussions between the United States and North Korea are ongoing and have “moved more quickly than expected”. The one-on-one meeting, which is scheduled to last 45 minutes, will be followed by an expanded bilateral meeting and a working lunch.

The US delegation at the expanded bilateral meeting will include Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Chief of Staff John Kelly, and National Security Advisor John Bolton.

At the conclusion of the summit, President Trump will participate in a press conference before departing at approximately 8 p.m. for the United States.
