Twenty cement projects started in 2004

New investment projects in cement production were carried out in 2004 with capital of 4.008 trillion dong with the Vietnam Cement Corp accounting for 11 projects.
Amongst the projects was the 1.4 million tonnes a year Tam Diep cement plant worth 485 billion dong that finished construction works and was put into operation. In addition, Vietnam Cement Corp spent some 983 billion dong on building the Hai Phong cement plant which is scheduled to be commissioned some time in December 2005.
The Song Gianh (Gianh River) cement plant project, which is managed by the central region’s Construction Corp, is working to meet the schedule of commissioning a plant in 2005.
The 910,000 tonnes pa Hung Vuong cement plant project worth one trillion dong in Phu Tho province received the green light from the prime minister in May to be carried out in the form of an EPC contract built by Lilama.
Other projects of Tay Ninh, Tuyen Quang, Yen Binh cement plants, after the release of the decree 13/CP, are dealing with financial matters and equipment tender works. Projects of Cam Pha, Ha Long and Thang Long cement plants are working with site clearance.
