US biggest buyer of Vietnam seafood

The US overtook Japan to become the biggest importer of Vietnam aqua products.

Last year, the US imported US$500 million worth of aqua products from Vietnam,

accounting for 28% of Vietnam’s aqua product exports, while Japan accounted for

only 26.1%.

Vietnam will likely reach US$3 billion worth of aqua products in five years and

lead the world in exports of such products, deputy prime minister Nguyen Cong

Tan said recently.
