US Food International plans joint venture

US Food International Inc (USFI), one of top food suppliers in the US and Asia, has signed a partnership agreement with Song Hau farm in Can Tho, one of the major farm product exporters in the Mekong River Delta.
Under the agreement, the Song Hau farm will supply more than 50 varieties of farm products such as rice, frozen shrimp and fruit juice to the USFI.
Song Hau farm, a major food and farm processor for many years, will also support USFI’s expansion of food supply to major restaurants, supermarkets and hotels in Vietnam.
The two companies opened a booth at Food & Hotel Vietnam Exhibition last week in Can Tho to showcase processed food products such as sterilised milk and fruit juice powder.
Song Hau farm director Tran Ngoc Suong said that the quality of food products bearing the Song Hau trade mark is widely recognised both at home and abroad.
The new cooperation with USFI aims to supply high quality, nutritious and sanitary foods to meet the growing demand for safe food products on the local market, Suong said.
The two companies will also target the estimated four million annual foreign tourist arrivals in Vietnam through the national system of hotels and restaurants.
USFI is one of major food suppliers for US Armed Forces and 3,000 supermarkets and restaurants in the US and Asia. Its turnover last year reached US$32 billion.
