US$430mfor Ca Mau gas-power-urea complex

Vietnam Oil & Gas Corp. (PetroVietnam) and the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) on December 19 signed a credit contract for the gas-electricity-fertiliser complex in the southernmost province of Ca Mau with total investment capital of over US$1.1 billion including 30% held by PetroVietnam.

This project consists of three sub-projects including a Phu My 3- Ca Mau gas pipeline, a 720MW power plant and a fertiliser plant with total capacity of 800,000 tonnes a year.

Under the contract, Vietcombank pledged to grant US$270 million to the power plant. Earlier, the Bank for Investment and Development pledged to grant US$160 million for Phu My 3-Ca Mau pipeline.
