Vietbank shifting head office
Vietnam Thuong Tin Bank (VietBank) will buy 15-storey building that was the previous headquarters of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank).
Techcombank has said that after six months of receiving the handover for B Vincom Tower at No 191 Ba Trieu street (Hanoi), the lender has finalised shifting its all departments in the North.
Another 15-storey tower with an area of thousands of square meters with a capacity of over 2,000 people has officially become the new head office of Techcombank.
Techcombank’s former headquarter at No 72 Ba Trieu (Hanoi) will be transferred to a southern-headquartered domestic bank. Detailed contracted is expected to be signed in next few days.
According to VnEconomy newswire, the buyer will be VietBank and the building will be the headquarters of VietBank’s Hanoi branch. Currently, the value of this contract has not been revealed yet.
In September, Techcombank will hand over its building at No 72 Ba Trieu street for VietBank. This building had been Techcombank’s former head office since 2006 with total area of 500 square meters with 15 storeys and two basements with a capacity of 1,000 people.
In the past six years, Techcombank’s scale has been expanded much more with six-time increase in chartered capital from 1.5 trillion dong to 8.848 trillion dong, total assets increase at over 10 times from 17.326 trillion dong to 178.5 trillion dong, over five fold increase in human resource to nearly 8,000 people from 1,584 ones earlier.
Accordingly, Techcombank needs a new headquarters to have enough space for all divisions and departments to operate more smoothly and efficiently.
Simon Morris, Techcombank’s general director said: “The removal of the bank’s headquarters to No 191 Ba Trieu and handover of its former head office at No 72 Ba Trieu are all in the bank’s operation plan in 2012. This year is considered a pivotal year in its strategic progress to become TechcomOne towards the best and the leading bank in Vietnam”.
