Vietcombank provides utility payments via ATMs
Customers of the HCM City Power Co can now pay their electricity bills at any Vietcombank automated teller machine in the country.
The payments are made by using a Connect 24 debit card from Vietcombank.
Speaking at yesterday’s launch of the new service, Nguyen Phuoc Thanh, director of Vietcombank’s HCM City branch, said the transaction was simple and could be done at any of Vietcombank’s 400 ATMs, not just the 140 machines in HCM City.
Besides cash withdrawals and now power bills, Connect 24 can be used to pay some phone and internet bills, and premiums for life insurance from Prudential and AIA.
Also present at the launch was HCM City Power Co director Le Minh Hoang, who said the other big state-owned banks—Bidv, Agribank and Incombank—would be approached to provide the same service.
