Vietfood II hikes contracted rice export prices

Vietnam’s price of exported rice has continuously risen slightly since August 14, reported the trade ministry.
In HCM City and Mekong Delta, the price of exported 25% broken rice has increased from US$240 a tonne to US$242 a tonne, and 25% broken rice exported at US$262 a tonne, higher US$2 a tonne than that of last week.
Giant rice trader, state-run Southern Food Corp or Vietfood II has also hiked rice price of government level contracts. In particular, 5% broken rice is at US$275 a tonne and 25% broken rice at US$265 a tonne.
During late days of this week, 44,700 tonnes of rice will be shipped to Philippines and Africa.
