VietJetAir has added one new route to its domestic network with service between HCM City and Nha Trang, a popular seaside resort city of Khanh Hoa Province, launched last Friday.

VietJetAir’s launch of the HCM City-Nha Trang service came after more than two months of starting daily flights between Hanoi and the central cities of Nha Trang and Danang. On the new route, the carrier flies every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Pritam Singh, general director of VietJetAir, said the new route was in line with the carrier’s development plan to expand the domestic network in 2012, which will cover most of key destinations in the country.

“It (the new route) is expected to meet demand for residents and tourists of the southern Vietnam and surrounding countries looking for quick and convenient access to Nha Trang”, Singh said. He added that the airline would soon increase the route’s flight frequency and set to connect it with our coming international flights as well.

VietJetAir will continue to expand its wings domestically with flights connecting HCM City – Hai Phong, HCM City – Hue and HCM City – Vinh under consideration as well as destinations in Southeast Asia late this year when the carrier receives two new Airbus A320 aircraft.

VietJetAir started services in December 2011 and now operates three single-aisle Airbus A320 planes to four major domestic destinations, namely HCM City, Danang, Nha Trang and Hanoi. Every day, the airline offers 11 return flights across its network.

VietJetAir is recruiting more pilots as part of its development strategy to have 15 Airbus A320 planes and triple the number of its pilots to more than 150 in 2015.
