Vietnam Airlines will add more flights to the HCM City and Hanoi routes to Da Nang beginning June 1, aiming to meet tourism demand during Da Nang Beach Festival 2007.

Director-General for Vietnam Airlines central region, Luu Van Hanh said the carrier will operate six flights on the HCM City-Da Nang route, or 1,100-1,200 seats per day, a 60% increase compared to the normal frequency.

On the Hanoi-Da Nang route, Hanh said there would be four flights available per day with some 900 serving seats, up 30% compared to a typically normal day.

The Da Nang Beach Festival, a highly popular annual event, will run from June 15-19 this year.

In 2005, US-based Forbes Magazine called the beach at Da Nang near the popular Furama Resort one of the six best in the world, with some 32 kilometres of unadulterated coastal white sands.
