Vietnam Airlines to launch Germany route next month
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will officially open its direct air route to Frankfurt, Germany on July 4 instead of June 20 as announced previously.
Vietnam Airlines will offer two flights from Hanoi every Monday and Thursday and one flight from HCM City on Saturday with Boeing 777s, said Chair of the management board of Vietnam Airlines Corp Nguyen Sy Hung.
Return flights to Hanoi will be conducted on Monday and Friday, and to HCM City on Sunday every week, he added.
The direct route to Germany’s business centre of Frankfurt will replace the existing flights, which stop over in Moscow, thus reducing the travel time by almost five hours, the airline said.
Vietnam Airlines is now operating a twice-weekly service from HCM City to Frankfurt, its second European destination after Paris, with stopovers in Hanoi and Moscow.
