Vietnam Crude Oil Export Reaches $2.92b in Jan-May, Down 0.5pct YoY: GSO

Vietnam is estimated to have earned a total of $2.92 billion from shipping 3.05 million tonnes of crude oil in Jan-May period, making year-on-year fall of 0.5 percent in value and 9.8 percent in volume, the general Statistical Office (GSO) said on May 27.

In May alone, the country shipped 679,000 tonnes of crude oil for $600 million, rising 3.66 percent on year in volume but down 7.55 percent in value, the data showed.

Vietnam’s exploitation index of crude oil and natural gas rose by 5.9 percent year-on-year in the first 5 months of this year, GSO added.
