Vietnam exports over 3 million tonnes of rice so far

Vietnam Food Association (VFA) reported that Vietnam has already exported 386,225 tonnes of rice in the first 18 days of June, bringing its export turnover to over $161 million.

Therefore, the country’s total rice export from the beginning of 2010 to June 18 was estimated at 3.07 million tonnes, equal to export turnover of $1.382 billion.

In June, the two main rice export markets were Asian and African countries, accounting for 56 percent and 33.6 percent of the total export volume respectively.

The high-quality 5 percent broken rice became the No 1 export item, accounting for 43.6 percent of the total export volume.
