Vietnam Increases Import Tax for Gas to 5pct from June 20

Ministry of Finance (MoF) has just issued Circular No. 100/2012/TT-BTC, guiding implementation of import taxes to goods in Group 2711, officially increasing import tax for gas to 5 percent from today June 20th, 2012.

The decision was made amid world gas prices have been continuously fallen since April 2012 which are expected to continue slowing down in June, MoF said, adding that the domestic gas retail prices also dropped following world suit to VND340,000/12 kilogram-cylinder from June 1st, 2012 or down 18.26 percent from April, 2012.
