Vietnam Runs $1.86b Trade Surplus with the US in Jan-Feb: Customs

Vietnam was estimated to run a trade surplus of $1.86 billion with U.S in the first two months of this year, the general Department of Vietnam Customs said on its website.

In details, Vietnam exported a total of $2.58 billion worth of goods to America while it spent $0.72 billion to import goods and services from the U.S, resulting in the two-country’s trade surplus of $3.3 billion.

In February alone, the Southeast Asian nation earned $1.35 billion from exports to the U.S while it imported $ 0.4 billion worth of goods and services from the partner, the data showed.

Apparel, woodwork products, seafood and footwear were the Southeast Asian nation’s export staples while its main imports were machinery, equipment and spare parts, animal feed and cotton.
