Vietnam Seafood Exports Touches $1.79b in Jan-April: Custom
Vietnam’s sea food export is estimated to have brought back $1.79 billion forex in the first 4 months of this year, up of 12.8 percent from a year earlier, the Vietnam general Department of Customs said on its release on May 18.
In April alone, the country earned $505 million from seafood export, falling 4.7 percent from March, the data showed.
EU remained to be largest importer of Vietnamese seafood in the period with $357 million, down 10.6 percent on year. Followed by the US with $338 million, up 19.2 percent. Japan stayed third with $311 million, up 33.7 percent and Korea with $148 million, up 21.5 percent.
The country targeted to earn $6.6 billion from seafood export this year compared with $6.323 billion last year.
