Vietnam’s Stock Movers: Bien Hoa Sugar, Tan Dai Hung Plastic

The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the HCM City Stock Exchange, fell 0.3 percent to 426.53.

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 11:30 a.m. local-time break in HCM City.

Bien Hoa Sugar Join Co. (BHS), a sugar manufacturer based in the southern province of Dong Nai, advanced by the daily limit of 5 percent to 19,000 dong, bound for the highest close since May 25. Thanh Thanh Cong Co. plans to acquire 23 percent stake in Bien Hoa from June 18 to July 18, according to an exchange filing.

Tan Dai Hung Plastic Join Co. (TPC VN), a HCM City-based plastic bag maker, dropped 0.9 percent to 10,800 dong, heading for a one-week low. Que Tran Co. cut its stake in Tan Dai Hung to 4.8 percent from 7.9 percent, according to a statement on the bourse’s website.
