Vinachem targets fertiliser output at 3.5m tonnes

Vietnam Chemical Co (Vinachem) targets output of some 3.5 million tonnes of various fertiliser, including 1.5 million tonnes of processed phosphate fertiliser, 1.8 million tonnes of NPK fertiliser, 165,000 tonnes of nitrogenous fertiliser in 2005.
Although Vinachem encountered many difficulties such as input material price hike, subsidiary companies achieved a growth rate of 14%, especially fertiliser products with high growth rate of 17.6% in 2004. Vinachem provided three million tonnes of all kinds of fertiliser for agricultural use, accounting for some 50% of total output of fertiliser for agricultural use in the whole country in 2004.
In addition, the corporation has proposed the government to support interest rate of loans for fertiliser production enterprises.
