VinaPhone to install transceiver stations along China border
Vietnam’s biggest mobile phone network, VinaPhone, will install new transceiver stations near the China border to improve its coverage area for local subscribers, reported VinaPhone June 17.
The new transceivers will improve connections for local subscribers near the border, said Pham Quang Hao, VinaPhone vice director.
Previously, local subscribers had registered for international roaming services with China in order to use their mobile phones in Vietnam because of the poor connections.
At present, Vietnam is negotiating with China to cooperate in expanding mobile services along the border.
According to VinaPhone, in the first five-months of the year, the mobile phone network had signed up 600,000 new subscribers, but lost 200,000 of its old subscribers.
