VN Index continues eighth consecutive decline

The Vietnam’s stock market today February 19 continued going down and marked the eighth consecutive decline as the index of Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) lost another 0.24 points or 0.09% to close at 254.85 pts with the total matching order trade of over 9.4 million shares worth 169.71 billion dong, down 15% in volume and 18% in value from last session.

Among 177 share codes and fund certificates being listed on the southern bourse, the stock market recorded 75 shares decreased with 38 falling to the floor price, 58 others increased with 11 reaching the ceiling price, 43 shares stood still and one with no trade namely MTG of MT Gas Joint Stock Co.

Out of largest market capitalised shares, STB, VIC, PVF, PVD and HAG decreased.

Meanwhile some other blue-chips increased such as VNM, DPM, PPC, HPG and VPL together with REE, SAM, SJS and VSH.
Shares reached the ceiling price including TRI, BBT, KMR, ANV, BAS and BBC.

STB still took the pole place in trading volume with 940,000 shares and then DPM 670,000, SAM 620,000, SSI 400,000, VF1 and VF4 with 390,000 and 360,000 and NKD with 310,000 shares being transferred.

Conversely, Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) today February 19 regained when the HaSTC Index resumed 0.65 points or 0.77% to end at 85.27 pts with the total market trade of 4,060,100 shares valued at nearly 77 billion dong.

Amongst 176 listed shares on the northern bourse, the stock market witnessed 48 shares decreased, 34 others stood still, 25 shares with no trades including BST, C92, CIC, CTB, DTC, HSC, LBE, MCO, NGC, NST, PTM, QST, QTC, SDY, SPP, TJC, TPH, TPP, TST, VBH, VC6, VDL, VE9, VTL and VTV and 69 shares increased.

Some big gainers were VNR +1,400 dong and VSP +1,100 dong per share. Other gainers increased below 1,000 dong per share.

Some big losers were HLY -2,700 and VHL -1,700 dong per share.
ACB still led the market in trading volume with 1,107,200 shares and followed by KLS 364,100, VSP 234,300, VCG 180,600 and PVS with 174,500 shares being changed hands.
