VN Index continues plunging to 272.31 pts

Ending the first trading session on new week, Vietnam’s stock market today February 16 continued going down with the fifth consecutive decline. In the first phase, some big stocks increased and the index of Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) regained 0.35 points or 0.13% to 274.86 pts.

However, closing the session, VN Index lost 2.2 pts or 0.8% to 272.31 pts with the total matching order trade of over 5.5 million shares worth 100 billion dong.

Out of 172 share codes and four fund certificates being listed on the southern bourse, the stock market saw 89 shares decreased with 19 falling to the floor price, 50 others increased with six reaching the ceiling price and 37 remaining shares stood still.
Some shares reached the ceiling price such as BAS, TNA, TCM, SFN and TTC.

Out of top ten largest capitalised shares, seven shares decreased such as STB, DPM, HAG, PVF and three shares increased including VNM, VPL and PPC.

SAM led the market in trading volume with 370,000 shares and then FPT 360,000, ANV 300,000, HSG 290,000 and STB with 280,000 shares being traded.

Similarly, Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) today February 16 also tumbled as the HaSTC Index plunged 0.91 points or 1% to 90.03 pts with the total market trade of 2,776,100 shares valued at over 52 billion dong.

Amongst 176 listed shares on the northern bourse, the stock market witnessed 43 shares increased, 22 others with no trade including B82, BST, CIC, CTB, DHI, DST, HEV, HSC, MCO, NGC, PJC, PTM, QTC, SDC, SNG, SPP, SRA, TCS, TPH, VE1, VTL and VTV, 24 shares remained unchanged namely BCC, BTH, CTC, CTN, DBC, HCT, HHC, HPC, HPS, MEC, NST, PVE, PVG, QST, S91, S99, SDA, SSS, STL, TLC, VC6, VCC, VCG and XMC and 87 remaining shares decreased.
Some big gainers were DTC +3,000 dong per share, VHL +2,100, HLY +1,300 and TDN +1,100 dong per share. Other gainers increased below 1,000 dong per share.

KBC was the biggest loser with 1,400 dong per share, DAC -1,300, GHA -1,100, DHT, PLC, PSC and VDL -1,000 dong per share.

ACB reached the biggest trading volume with 402,600 shares and followed by KLS 399,600, TBC 220,300 and VSP 134,300 shares being changed hands.
