VN Index drops 12.26 pts again after a recovery
Many shares decreased after a tremendous increase in the previous session. Yet, some blue-chip shares kept increasing with a high trading volume. Ending the session on January 17, the VN Index tumbled 12.26 points or 1.44% to 833.81 pts with the total matching order trade of 10,298,680 shares worth 849.888 billion dong.
Among 144 shares listing on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC), the stock market recorded 31 shares increasing while 89 shares decreasing and 24 shares stood still.
Amongst 10 shares with the largest market capitalisation, only three shares continued increasing and the remainder falling. The blue-chip share STB of Sacombank added 500 dong to 61,000 dong per share with the trading volume of over 1.85 million shares changed hands, FPT of FPT Technology Investment Development Joint Stock Co also lifted 1,000 dong to 199,000 dong per share and SJS of Song Da Sudico bounded 1,000 dong to 229,000 dong per share.
Meanwhile, some other shares declined like VNM of Vinamilk slipped 5,000 dong to 151,000 dong per share, DPM of Phu My Nitrogenous Fertilizer dropped 1,500 to 65,000, PPC of Pha Lai Thermo power tumbled 1,500 to 55,500 and PVD of PV Drilling dipped 2,000 dong to 138,000 dong per share.
Regarding the northern floor, the Hanoi Securities Transaction Centre (HaSTC) also declined when the HaSTC Index tumbled 2.73 points or 0.96% to close at 282.9 pts with the total market trade of 4,258,200 shares worth nearly 351 billion dong.
Among 121 shares listing on the northern bourse, the stock market saw 20 shares decreasing, seven shares remained unchanged and 97 shares increasing.
20 shares falling in the session on January 17 were ACB, BHV, BTH, C92, CAP, CJC, HLY, HPS, KBC, KMF, NBC, NTP, PGS, PSC, PVE, RCL, S12, SGD, TJC and VC5. Seven shares remained unchanged including BVS, HCC, HSC, NPS, PJC, QNC and YSC.
S99 continued to be the biggest gainer when adding another 9,300 dong or 3.13% to 306,700 dong per share with 23,800 shares traded, followed by DAE, SDC, STP, MIC, VC2, SSS, S64, S91, SD6, SDJ.
