VN Index ends chain of seven consecutive falls to exceed 390 points

The VN Index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) today November 16 closed up over three points to end the chain of seven straight falls, to stand at 390.89 points. The total number of gainers accounted for over 50 percent.

The trading volume reached over 33 million units worth 711 billion dong, down nearly 20 percent from the previous trading session. If excluding negotiation transactions, the trading value reached 390 billion dong, up 6 percent day on day.

STB and HAG reached the biggest trading volume with 1.6 million and 1.3 million units. STB ended up nearly 3 percent to 14,300 dong. From November 16, STB officially bought 100 million treasury shares as registered.

Meanwhile, HAG reached the ceiling price of 23,100 dong per share, ending the chain of 12 consecutive falls, losing over 27 percent. The trading volume also reached the highest in recent two months.

Bank shares such as CTG, EIB and MBB also gained 100 dong while VCB gained 900 dong. Similarly, real estate shares like ITC, ITA and IJC reached the ceiling price and HQC also ended the chain of eight consecutive falls.

MSN was negotiated for two million shares at the floor price of 118,000 dong per share. The total trading value reached 236 billion dong. MSN ended down 2,000 dong to 122,000 dong per share.

On the northern bourse, the HNX Index gained points for the second consecutive session, up over one point to 64.14 points. The total number of gainers tripled against the number of losers.

The trading volume also reached about 33 million shares valued at 323 billion dong, up 16 percent on day.

The share group of securities companies gained points such as CTS, AVS, APS, WSS, VND and SHS.

Of which, VND reached the biggest trading volume of nearly 4.4 million units to close averagely at 10,000 dong per share while its ceiling price was 10,200 dong.

KLS, VCG and PVX reached trading volume of over one million units each and ended up around 2 percent.

ACB reached negotiation transactions of 1.55 million units at the reference price of 20,100 dong each, totalled at 29 billion dong. The average closing price of ACB reached 20,200 dong per share.
