Ending the trading session today December 22, the index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange continued the third consecutive increase whereas the HNX Index tumbled.
Particularly, the VN Index gained another 4.25 points or 0.92 percent to 465.24 pts with the total matching order trade of 42.9 million shares valued at 1.653 trillion dong, up 36 percent in volume and 46 percent in value day on day.
According to the statistic, amongst 199 listed shares and fund certificates on the southern bourse, 82 shares increased, 94 others decreased and 23 remaining shares stood still at the comparative price.
Many bank shares fell such as STB slipped 800 to 24,300 dong, VCB dropped 1,000 dong to 46,600, EIB down 400 to 24,000 dong and CTG tumbled 900 to 30,500 dong. However, many other shares still increased like PVF, PVD, HPG, HAG, FPT, VIC and VPL.
In terms of trading volume, STB led the market with over 4.3 million shares and then EIB over 3.8 million, SSI over 1.9 million, HAG over 1.8 million, PPG over 1.5 million and GMD with over 1.1 million shares being transferred.
The HNX Index today dropped 0.83 points or 0.55 percent to 149.51 pts with the total market trade of nearly 28.59 million shares worth 1.138 trillion dong, increasing 65 percent in volume and 68 percent in value compared with previous session.
Some share codes gained big trading volume such as KLS with nearly 6.5 million shares, VCG over 2.6 million and ACB and BVS with over one million shares being traded.
