VN Index loses 4%

The Vietnam’s stock market today November 11 continued falling as the index of Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) dipped strongly 14.29 pts or 3.9% to end at 351.71 pts with the total matching order trades of over 14.27 million shares and fund certificates worth 382.92 billion dong, falling nearly 6% in volume and 12% in value from last session.

The southern bourse today officially traded 9.6 million shares of Basa Joint Stock Co with the share code BAS at the reference price of 18,000 dong per share, bringing the total share codes being listed on the southern floor to 168.

Among 164 shares and four fund certificates being listed on STC, the stock market recorded 137 shares decreased with 78 falling to the floor price, 21 others increased including four reaching the ceiling price, eight stood still and two with no trade namely FPC of Full Power Joint Stock Co and HBD of Hoa Binh Housing Joint Stock Co.

Almost largest shares fell to the floor price except VIC of Vincom and VPL of Vinpearl Trade and Tourism firm.
Big losers were familiar shares such as STB, PVF, SSI, DPM, VNM, HPG, FPT and PVD.

Four shares reached the ceiling price including ANV of Nam Viet, DRC of Da Nang Rubber, VNS of Anh Dung JSC and ASP of Alpha S.G Petroleum firm. SGH of Saigon Hotel firm showed the biggest gain with 3,500 dong and followed by TMS of Trasimex Saigon with 1,700 dong per share.

The recruit BAS lost 20% or 3,600 dong to 14,400 dong per share with the total trading volume of 1,500 shares.

STB kept the pole place in the trading volume with 3.7 million, DPM followed with 690,000, FPT 540,000, ANV 490,000 and VIP with 450,000 shares being changed hands.

Like the southern bourse, the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) today November 11 continued its decrease impetus when the HaSTC Index lost another 6.04 points or 5.1% to close at 112.31 pts with the total market trades of 8,279,465 shares valued at over 230 billion dong.

Amongst 155 listed shares on the northern bourse, the stock market witnessed 10 shares increased namely DBC, DC4, DHI, NGC, PJC, SJC, SPP, SRA, SSS and VBH, five with no trades namely C92, CID, CTB, HSC and VDL, two stood still at the comparative price namely CTC and VNR and 138 remaining shares decreased.

Particularly, VSP was the strongest loser with a loss of 6,000 dong, CCM slipped 3,700, SJC slashed 3,500, KBC plunged 3,400, DTC tumbled 3,200 and NTP dropped 3,000 dong per share.

ACB regained the first position in trading volume with 1.295 million shares, followed by DBC with 804,200, KLS 779,300, VCG 537,100 and PVS with 478,700 shares changing hands.
