VN Index re-establishes 500 point threshold, HNX Index exceeds 165 pts
Ending the first trading session of new week as well as the first trading session of March, the stock market saw soars on both bourses Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).
In particular, the VN Index gained another 6.1 points or 1.23 percent to 503.01 pts, marking the third consecutive increase on the southern bourse.
The liquidity saw a slight rise when the total trading volume reached 32.38 million shares worth 1.14 trillion dong, increasing 4.1 percent in volume and 10.5 percent in value.
According to the statistic, amongst 212 share codes and fund certificates on the southern floor, the market witnessed 131 share codes increased, 33 others decreased and 49 remaining shares stood still at the comparative price.
Many key stocks increased such as STB +500 to 24,000 dong per share, VCB +800 to 49,800, EIB +300 to 23,400, CTG +1,500 to 33,900, BVH +500 dong to 45,500, PVF +1,400 to 30,000, HPG +1,000 to 61,500 dong per share. However the giant SSI slipped 500 dong to 85,500 dong per share.
As for trading volume, STB regained the pole place with over 3.4 million shares and then VSH 2.6 million, CTG over 1.2 million, SSI over 1.1 million, EIB over one million shares, PPC over 928,000 shares being traded.
Like the southern floor, the northern bourse also recorded the second consecutive gain as the HNX Index bounced 3.85 points or 2.37 percent to end at 166.26 pts.
The liquidity increased strongly with the total trading volume of 19.49 million shares valued at 629.62 billion dong, up 40 percent in volume and 43 percent in value against the previous session.
