VN Index rises slightly

The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) yesterday August 20 saw another small surge on the stock market after falling 47.75 points or 5% lastweek with a total market trade of 4.45 million shares, a 16.5% increase from the previous session.
Particularly, after a week reducing, VN Index rose by 2.09 points or 0.23% considerably to close at 890.02 with 19 share codes stationary, 38 increasing and 54 falling. In addition, foreign investors also stepped up buying with over one million shares including the matching order trade reaching 1,025,180 shares worth 140.96 billion dong, accounting for 28.69% of the market’s trade. At the same time, investors also sold 30 share codes with a volume of 810,810 shares worth 110.31 billion dong, accounting for 22.46% of the market’s trade. SJS coded share was bought with the largest volume with 114,620 shares. Meanwhile VNM was sold with the biggest volume at 149,740 shares. Investors also sold a considerable volume of FPT-coded shares with 80,790 shares and bought 10,840 FPT-coded shares.
Besides, foreign investors reached a negotiated trade of 105,000 PPC-coded shares, 82,880 TTP-coded shares, 100.000 SMC-coded shares and 750,000 TPA5105-coded shares.
Notably, some share codes rose like NKD, PPC, REE, GMD, IMP, ITA. SAM. Meanwhile, many giants kept falling such as BMP, STB, VNM and KDC.
On the northern floor or HaSTC, almost of share codes continued dropping, which made HaSTC-Index continue sliding in the uninterrupted 7th session with 46 shares down, 18 increasing, eight stood still and 16 shares with no trades. The HaSTC-Index lost 0.57 points or 0.23% to close at 248.83 with the total market trade of 689,700 shares worth 66.8 billion dong, a considerable decrease in compare with the average level of 1.2 million shares worth 122.9 billion dong in the session in June.
Share codes that saw a substantial decrease were SDY lost 9.82%, CIC 8.71%, SIC 7.5%, PSC 6.82% and VMC 5.19%.
Among the prime shares, ACB dropped 700 dong or 0.6% to reach 116,500 dong par, BTS lost 700 dong or 1.64% reaching 42,000 dong per share and BCC decreased 100 dong or 0.28% to close at 36,100.
Shares of trading companies had the largest trading volume including SSI with 176,800 shares, ACB with 70,700, HNM 44,600, NTP 41,500 and PVI with 35,400 shares.
Foreign investors rose the volume of buying shares with 117,200 shares worth 13.4 billion dong, increasing 33% over last week and sold 18,000 shares worth 1.3 billion dong, decreasing 12% from last week.
