VN Index slips to 1137.69 points
After the stock market had witnessed a surge in the previous two sessions, prices of many share codes listed on the HCM City floor fell today February 28 and the pushed VN Index down by 2.54%.
During the session, the VN Index slipped to 1137.69 points down 29.67 points against the previous session, making the second record drop since the start of 2007.
The price of 38 share codes was down while 57 went up and 12 showed no movement.
PCC saw a fall of 2.1% in price to 95,000 dong per share, FPT coded shares even fell down to a floor price of 632,000 dong per share, followed by VNM, VSH, CII, GMD, KDC, SAM, SJS and THD.
Meanwhile, the share code STB with the second largest trade on the bourse saw a slight rise of 0.9% to 1.53 million shares at 108,000 dong each and ITA reached 169,000 dong per share. Ranking after STB in terms of transaction volume was PPC with 840,000 shares changing hands, followed by SCT with nearly 550,000 traded shares, ITA with 490,000 shares and REE with 480,000 shares.
HAX was the share code having the lowest trade of 10 shares changed hands at 49,000 dong.
Out of two fund certificates being traded on the HCM City STC, PRUBF1 trading reached over 530,000 shares at a price that fell by 2.1% against the previous session to 14,200 dong each.
On the northern floor, the HASTC Index on February 28 remained at 430.34 points, down 3.49 points when compared with that of the previous session with a total market trade of 4,645,400 shares worth 394.939 billion dong.
According to figures from the Hanoi bourse, there were 20 share codes saw a fall in price while prices of the remaining share codes rose slightly.
In which, the price of SSI fell 22,100 dong per share considerably, NTP (-15,400 dong), SDA (-12,600 dong) whereas that of SNG rose 12,500 dong per share, VMC (+10,800 dong), SD7 (+10,300 dong), SD5 (-7,800 dong), CTN (+7,600 dong) and HSC (+7,00 dong).
During the session on HASTC, foreign investors purchased 22 share codes including 100,200 MPC coded shares, 42,600 BMI coded shares, 16,800 SSI coded shares and 12,000 BCC coded shares, at the same time sold out 106,300 ICF coded shares, 71,700 SSI coded shares and 25,000 BTS coded shares.
