VN Index slips to 396pts August 8

After two gains, the VN Index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) returned to fall 4.47 points or 1.12 percent to 396.41 pts. The market saw 190 losers, 59 gainers and 52 remaining unchanged.

The total trading volume reached nearly 25 million units worth 463 billion dong, increasing 28 billion dong from the previous trading session.

STB continued to lead the market in terms of trading volume with over three million shares being changed hands. STB also reached 1.17 million shares being traded under the negotiation transaction method at the reference price of 15,200 dong per share.

MSN dropped 1.5 percent, VIC stood at the reference price, BVH gained 0.8 percent while other key stocks lost points, of which ITA, ITC, KBC, and PVF hit the floor and FPT, SSI, HAG, HPG, VNM, VCB and EIB decreased 100-1,000 dong.

KTB continued to reach the ceiling price to 26,000 dong per share. Totally after recent six gains, KTB increased 30 percent from 19,900 dong to 26,000 dong.

HNX Index fell for the second consecutive session to 67.32 points, losing 1.78 percent. The market liquidity declined by 30 percent from the previous trading session to reach nearly 229 billion dong.

70 percent of listed shares lost points and most key stocks ended in red colour.

Five share codes reached total trading value of over one billion dong each including KLS, VND, PVX, SHB and BVS. Of which, KLS reached the highest trading volume of over 2.8 million shares.
