VN Index slips to below 345 pts

The Vietnam’s stock market today November 17 opened a new week with a gloomy session when the VN Index lost points continuously. Closing the opening phase, the index of Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) slashed 5.18 points or 1.47% to 346.89 pts with the total market trades of over 1.56 million shares worth 37.69 billion dong. In the following stage, the VN Index continued losing 6.95 pts or 1.97% to 345.12 pts with the total trading volume of 7.54 million shares valued at 191.69 billion dong. Finally, the VN Index closed the session with a strong loss of 7.02 pts or 1.99% to 345.05 pts with the total matching order trades of 8.89 million shares capitalised at 224.59 billion dong, down 45% in volume and 41% in value as against previous session.
Among 165 share codes and four fund certificates being listed on the southern bourse, the stock market witnessed 38 shares increased with eight reaching the ceiling price while 17 others stood still and 114 remaining shares decreased with 22 falling to the floor price.

Out of top ten largest capitalisation shares, STB along with others such as DPM, HPG, FPT, PPC and VNM lost points. Gainers were VSH of Vinh Son Song Hinh, TCM of Thanh Cong Garment and Textile, RAL of Rang Dong Light and thermos flask firm, KDC of Kinh Do, BBC of Bibica, DHG of Hau Giang Pharmaceutical firm, IMP of Imexpharm and DMC of Domesco medical export and import firm.
In terms of trading volume, STB maintained the pole place with 1.71 million, followed by SSI with 830,000, REE 330,000, PVF 320,000, TCM 300,000, ANV 270,000 and SAM with 260,000 shares changing hands.

On the northern bourse, the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) today November 17 fell on the stock market as the HaSTC Index slipped 2.72 points or 2.41% to end at 110.35 pts with the total market trades of 4,704,200 shares worth nearly 131 billion dong.

Amongst 156 listed shares on the northern floor, the stock market saw 29 shares increased, nine with no trade namely BBS, HSC, MCO, PJC, S12, SDC, TPH, TPP and VTL, six stood still at the comparative price including CMC, CTN, SNG, SSM, SVC and VE9 and 112 remaining shares decreased.

PSC was the biggest gainer with 1,300 dong, PVE and THT up 1,200 dong, NPS and SIC bounced 1,100 dong and others bounded below 1,000 dong per share.

Meanwhile, DTC was the strongest loser with 3,000 dong per share, RCL, SD5 and TC6 dropped 2,300 dong, VC2 slipped 2,000 dong and VDL tumbled 1,900 dong per share.

ACB reached the biggest trading volume with 661,000 shares, PVS followed with 435,700, KLS with 424,800 shares, DBC with 325,400 and VCG with 263,300 shares being traded.
