WB deputy president to attend Vietnam Business Forum

Deputy president and chief economist of the World Bank Nicolas Stern has arrived in Vietnam and will attend the Vietnam Business Forum to be held on May 23 in HCM City, according to the WB office in Hanoi. Economic development will be the main topics in talks between Stern and Vietnamese high-ranking officials and economists. He will also deliver a speech to students at the HCM City Economics University.

On May 21, Stern met with Le Duc Thuy, governor of State Bank of Vietnam and signed a credit agreement worth US$38.2 million for regional blood banks in Vietnam.

The business forum, participated by Vietnamese businesses and government officials, will discuss the development of the private sector and implementation of the Party’s decrees on the private sector.
