Work starts on 600MW Hai Phong 2 Thermo power plant

Hai Phong Thermo Power Co yesterday started work on the Hai Phong 2 Thermo Power Plant with an estimated capacity of 600MW and 9.902 trillion dong of capital including loans from China Import Export Bank, Japan International Cooperation Bank and contributions of shareholders.

The plant is expected to finish the first generator in a phase of 32 months and the second in 38 months.

Hai Phong Thermo Power Co recently contracted the main tender of the Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) with the joint venture contractor including Dongfang Electric Corp (China) and Marubeni Corp (Japan).

Two thermo power plants when in operation with the total output of 12,000 MW will supply 7.2 billion kWh to national electric network and make a considerable contribution to develop of main point economic triangle area Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh.
